1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible
This “One and Only” Larkspur Blue 1957 Chevy Bel Air Convertible (Peggy Sue) has become an “Icon Classic” American car in every sense of the word. It is powered by the new “Turbo-Fire” V-8 delivering, with a whisper, 220 HP @ 4800 R.P.M. At idling speeds and through the entire range of engine speeds, power is smoothly hushed, due to scientific combustion chamber design, aero-type overhead valves, oil-cushioned hydraulic valve lifters, silent chain-driven camshaft and super-quiet 4 barrel carburetion. Complemented with the “Powerglide” automatic transmission and 3.36 to 1 rear axle, results in superb acceleration with V-8 Power. Styling included the massive chrome front bumper and grille unit, chrome side ornamentation, fender skirts, continental wheel carrier and tail fins accentuated the longer and lower look. It is this blending of performance, engineering improvements including power steering, power brakes and classic styling which has made the ’57 Bel Air the most “famous” and the most “demanded” collectible of the American cars. It was the “Last” and the “Best” of the “Classic” Chevys.
Former Owner for 12 Years. John S. Langford.
